Curriculum

Teaching is along traditional lines with a major emphasis on the three ‘Rs’.  A broad educational programme is offered which exceeds the demands of the National Curriculum and prepares children for the responsibilities, challenges and experiences of secondary school.

All pupils receive a thorough grounding in the basic subjects: English (including grammar, dictation, composition, comprehension, reading and handwriting), mathematics, general science, geography, history and Scripture.  Music, art/craft, games and swimming supplement the main curriculum.

All children learn ICT and the recorder from Year 2, French is introduced in Year 4 and Spanish in Year 6.  Children have appropriately filtered access to the Internet.
